Proclaimed by the United Nations in 1992, the International Day of Persons with Disabilities is observed annually on 3 December. Each year DPI and its national assemblies mark the day with statements, events and advocacy on the theme set by the UN. DPI leaders have addressed the day at UNESCO in Paris and at events across all six DPI regions.
